Ambassador Wang Jinfeng, Head of China's Delegation and China's Permanent Representative to the International Seabed Authority (ISA), Attended the 31st Session of the ISA Council, Part II

The 31st Session of the ISA Council, Part II, was inaugurated on July13, 2026, in Kingston, the capital city of Jamaica. China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Natural Resources, Permanent Mission to the ISA, China Ocean Mineral Resources R&D Association, Minmetals, and Beijing Pioneer Hi-Tech Development Corporation dispatched personnel to the delegation. Ambassador Wang Jinfeng, head of China’s delegation and Permanent Representative to the ISA, attended the Session and delivered remarks.

Ambassador Wang said thatinternational seabed activities are facing a critical transition from exploration to exploitation. China calls on all parties to further cooperate with sincerity, focus on key priorities, and forge consensus to facilitate the early adoption of the exploitation regulations. China would like to work with all parties to implement the Global Governance Initiative, practice true multilateralism with concrete actions, jointly build a just, equitable, and sustainable international seabed governance system and a maritime community with a shared future.
